Out Headlight $275 to replace!?!?!?!?!?!

I have the stock 02 Maxima HID headlights and my passenger side light went out last night. I called the dealership and they quoted me something like $275 for a replacement bulb. Are the bulbs really that f***ing expensive? Any cheaper alternative suggestions? I see some like $12 bulbs that say they are HID on ebay but am a bit weary that they are just normal halogen bulbs that people think make their car HID... Also, do I need a whole new ballast system? Thanks for the help!

You don't need the whole ballast system. Bulbs run $60 a pair in the GD section

Yes, $275 is about accurate from the dealership.

Yes actually I thought I was the first one ever to replace a bulb. That's why I posted the question here so I could ask all the people that had never replaced a bulb before, jackass.

Let me remind you of the rules.

New Maxima.org-wide rules in effect

* Please keep posts generally positive and polite. We do not censor opinions or ideas but we do take action against posts or topics that go beyond a civil disagreement or have the potential to cause unrest in the community. We do not tolerate personal attacks, flaming or moderator bashing.
And to remind you, not every question needs a new thread. Post in the newbie thread with questions such as these or you can try to search.

Don't throw a freakin hissy fit. He's just trying to express the importance of the search feature. I assure you it will keep pages of flaming threads from showing up.

Now, just so you can call me a jackass too. Do you think you're the first newb to make this mistake?

Okay, my mistake. I posted a quick question about an 02 Maxima on a board made for the 02 Maxima's. I didn't realize that I should have spent hours doing extensive research first, I didn't know this was an academic peer reviewed environment. I used the search and didn't find anything and also don't live on this site anymore so didn't know that everything has already been answered before. Sorry I offended you two holy Maxima experts but you don't need to be ******** cause I don't spend four hours a day on this thing.

You didn't offend me. I was just trying to explain his reaction, and I expected the final reaction from you.

And just for fun, I've been a member here for 5 years and only 1300 posts. That comes to well under one per day. I'm not on here as much as you may think. remember, just for fun.
