Hesitation...... when accelerate
Anyone knows what to do to fix this? The hesitation goes like this... My car is an Auto by the way.. Anyhow. Stop, light changes- accelerate and the car hesitate, like stall but keep going. Hopefully it is nothing major.. I changed back to my old MAF just in case but nothing... going to clean the TB and run some seafoam.... any ideas on what this could be?

Hesitation has been a problem with many 5th gen as you would know, these are these upgrades that has helped mitigate the problem.
1) Regular flushes to the tranny
2) Replacing all coil packs and changing plugs every 60K miles and getting a new MAF.
3) Replacing fuel filter
4) Keeping the cooling system uptodate (I don't know why but since I replaced my radiator, hoses and coolant, there is a smooth revving) resulting is no bucking into gear
5) Keeping the TB clean, periodic cleaning.
But the biggest benefit came from the coil pack, tranny flushes and cooling system.

The fuel filter replacement was not bad at all. All that you need is patience with the snap connectors. An angular pliers (45 degree) will greatly help in the removal and installation.
The latest FSM downloaded from maxima.org has a detailed section with elaborate drawings -- I referred to that instead of the FAQ URL on this website.

My car is also hesititating, it feels like a fuel cut off at about 4500-5000 rpm, then it starts to pull again but very sluggish, what could this be? I just got the car...it's a 2001 SE 5spd, with 120k. COuld any of the aforementioned issues be related with my problem...

I had the same problems, cleaned MAF and problem fixed.
Did you rev the engine then it would just drop and cut the engine? Because I took my MAF out and cleaned it with MAF cleaner, from your local autoparts store. Put it back in and started the car revved crazily and no engine cut off. It even idles so much better, because before it was idling rough. Hope that helps.

cleaned the TB with CRC..added a canof Seafoam to the gas tank and did the Seafoam treatment and the car is running fine no more hesitation..... I'm going to replace the gas filter in the next few weeks.. I guess with 140k miles it is time.......

But did it change anything in the way the vehicle drove after replacing the fuel filter -- absolutely NO. A PM item though, when Nissan tells not to do it. Less stress on the pump and constant flow to the injectors.
