Trust me bro, they're too slow and too heavy to even compare with a Maxima, especially a 2002 Maxima...it wouldn't even hold it's own against a 2002 Altima SE.

Besides, I don't think that the type of people who buy 300M's had any intention of racing them when they bought them

Yes they will. 0-60 in about 7.7 seconds, not even slow. Best I've seen an auto Max do is 7.8 (not counting Kev's )

300M auto
Weight 3591 lbs.
Hp 250
Torque 255

2K2 Maxima SE auto
Weight 3261 lbs
Hp 255
Torque 246

Bottom line is the 300M is a heavy car.

Isn't this guy comparing a 2k1 Maxima to 300M on the other thread?..

2K1 Max auto
Weight 3245
Hp 222
Torque 217

300M auto

This would be a close race I think. The 5-speed max would definitely beat the 300M.

not a chance

i dont think a 300M would have a chance, ive driven a 300m and they have some power, ill give them that.....but they dont have anything on the maxima, they are just too heavy.....plus they come with those heavey chromies too, nah theres no way they could take a max.

I wouldn't say they're anything to worry about. I played with one on the highway and was reasonably impressed, but the highway's also their strongest point. They have good hp #'s, but like the Intrepid R/T, their performance isn't anything special. The R/T's do 0-60 in around 8.5, and they're only 8 less hp and lighter.

Yea maybe according to car and driver or motortrend..those numbers are B.S...let me give you an example..those magazines rate the auto maxima 0-60 at 8.1 seconds(not true).toyota camry 0-60 at 8.0 and the honda accord between 7.9 and 8.1...now if I can STOMP both these cars, and have before, these numbers dont mean a thing. also ive driven several 300m(remember im the guy who did valet parking for 2 years) .they(300m) have some get up and go but they are boats, big heavy boats.an auto max will edge it out in a race..

umm...since we are obviously talking best stock mag times...the best stock mag time for a 2k max auto w/ autoshifting has been 7.2 that i've seen...the 8.1 they got was just leaving it in drive...w/ a 300m the best mag time is 7.7...a 300m is much torquier(sp?) so they have more off the line power...but since we can beat them off the line (as tests prove..and races)...then we can defenitely kill them on the highway

and toylet, i never race people for money unless i know what they are running...at least not in the max...once i sell it and get a supra...upgrade the turbos etc. then i will defenitely be running some people for cash

dont forget, people have gotten a great time of 6.6... oh, the LSD drops your times by a great 1 second!! "Using G-Tech, I once get a time of 6.6second and people started flaming me about it. Keep in mind that I live in Canada and my SE has Limited slip differential, which contributed to the faster time. "

Now wait a minute. That was AFTER some synthetic tranny fluid, remember? So for around $60, you too can drop your 0-60 times by .5-1.0 seconds!

0-60 in 7.8? I think your confused about something. Try 6.8 in an auto Max. 7.8 is way to slow for the 0-60.

i'm not talking gtech times...i've seen a magazine rate the auto max 0-60 w/ a 7.2 and another mag rate the 5spd 0-60 w/ a 6.7...i know everyone has heard of and seen the 6.7 and i'm sure you can probably do a little better than that because chances are, when you get to know the car a little better, you can do better than the magazine people since they don't have the car long enough to get to know it inside out

those are the lowest recorded magazine times i've heard

yeah people have gotten 6.6 for autos w/ gtech and i've heard of 6.2's for 5spds with gtech but i was just reporting magazine times

gtechs cannot be entirely accurate because even a little slope will effect times. (did i mention this special driver also is auto) Thats cool about the 7.2.. where you see that?

Mag data means jack on the street or track since most people who are serious about performance or racing mod their cars out. Stock mag data is an OK baseline but in reality means very little!
