All interior lights go out when Headlights are on

This for my mom's 5.5 gen.

I just need some opinions on what to do.

So when we turn the headlights on, all the interior lights (shifter, dash, radio, ac, all buttons) go out, but when the headlights are off the radio and ac become lit. I've done quite a bit of searching and many have said fuses, alternators, and loose connections. Just wondering if this exact thing happened to any of yall. Many have had just the left side go out or the right side go out, but ALL lights go out ONLY when the headlights are on. I'll prolly look into it over the weekend, and I was just wondering what all i should check.

Any input is encouraged and welcomed.

Does this happen when the headlight switch is set to "auto"? Or only when the lights are manually turned on? How about when only the parking lights are on?

This happens for every setting of lights other than "off".

Rather, what I meant to ask was with the headlights off and flashing the highs manually, does the same thing happen?

Oh, weird, when I just flash the highbeams with the headlights off, the radio lights stay on.

Check and make sure the interior dimmer switch is turned all the way up... give it a little tap, it could be a faulty dimmer.

I've got a wierd problem with my HID headlights since I installed my angel eyes ang hid fogs. When I start it up the right side will be off. Then when I go over a bump or something they will come on then when I hit another bump they will turn off. When both sides are on they are perfectly bright. But wtf is wrong? I doubt the bulb is bad. I can't drive at night because of it, I can't afford to get another ticket.
