Clutch Problems

For the past few months the clutch on my 00 GXE has been leaking fluid at a slow but annoying rate. I have replaced the slave cylinder and the rubber hoses that go between the slave and the master. The problem is it is still slowly leaking. Does anyone have a similar problem or a place to look next? I am tired of checking the level of the fluid every few days.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

The only other place is the master itself. If it's bypassing it could be leaking at the pushrod seal at the back of the master cylinder.

I've got got to agree. It can only be the slave, master or the hose. do you see any fluid anywhere? It has to be going somewhere.

Where exactly is it leaking from? That'll tell you what needs to be repaired/replaced...

P. Sampson is correct. I had a very similar issue with my 00 gxe and after replacing all the hoses and a slave cylinder i was losing fluid at a very steady rate. I didnt realize this until i got stranded on the l.i.e. 3 days after the repair with the fluid canister bone dry. I had to replace the master after i had just gotten the other crap done. I wish mechanics could diagnose problem right the first time. What i really wish is that i had the mechanical know-how to do things myself! Lesson # 1 - Check your fluids, and CHECK THEM OFTEN!

Thanks for the info... I know it is a slow leak due to the small and infrequent drops on the garage floor. If I knew where it was leaking I would not be asking this question!! I will check around the areas suggested and report back later. Has anyone else had this problem?

BTW 00maxse thanks for wasting a reply no wonder you have 5500+ posts.

Thanks gold for your reply guess you beat me in the posting.
