HID converstion

I have a 00 maxima and don't have projector headlights. Do I need projector headlights to have HID convertions? or do I just need stock headlights to do HID conversions?

You can put HID's into your stock headlight but the light output is going to be everywhere it will be very bright but you will possibly be blinding oncoming motorists...your choice, my friend has hid's in his 01 headlights and it doesnt blind me when he drives behind me

NOT totally true... if you use the wrong kind of H4 bulb then that would be true, but if you use a H4 HID bulb that comes with the shield then the light will not be splashed all over the place blinding oncoming traffic. it will be just like a regular halogen pattern, except of course, brighter, whiter, and longer reaching. (also this one with the shield has a "teloscoping" bulb so you can still have both hi beam and lo beam functions)

... and oh yeah, its "conversion"...

or... he meant to say HID conversation.

There's gonna be some glaring even with shield. IIRC, my HID bulbs are just like the one in ReauDog's post. Yes, there are some glaring above my cutoff, but not too bad. I haven't got flashed yet but maybe it's because I'm low enough so my glare is not as annoying as others.

HIDs in stock housings is

get some 02-03 housings and do it that way (which also makes the risk of tickets/failed inspection virtually zero).

No, he was right. HIDs in stock housings is pretty

I love driving toward and being absolutely blinded by those who stuff HID capsules in H4 housings.

I would say either gowith the 02/03 headlights, or do an ebay projector retrofit. I had the retro fit done about 2 years ago, and couldnt be happier, the whole thing with the headlights ran me about $600, thats including the HID kit.
