Uh oh...challenged by a 2K2...
My CL-S friend was talking **** for me to a guy off another ship who's just purchased a 2K2 GLE. From what I've told, my friend's words were something along the lines of "screw your 255hp, my friend's modded 2K will whip you." Apparently the guy wasn't about to back down, even though he's only got 300 miles on it. My friend orchestrated it so we could all go play later tonight. I'm curious to see if every 2K2 is going to be able to beat my *** or if I stand a chance with my mods. For this race at least, I'll have the advantage of him not having his broken in or knowing his car too well, but I don't know if that'll be enough. My last dyno was at 190.1fwhp and 191.2fwtq with the OSCAI, and now that I have the JWT I should be a little higher. I did some math and if the 2k2 auto saps as much as the 2k & 2k1's (25%), that would put him at 191.25fwhp and 184.5fwtq. So are the 2k2 trannies as bad as ours or did Nissan un**** them yet? And most importantly, does anyone think I have a shot?

To say the least, I am interested in the results.... considering that you and I have almost the exact same mods, it should be a good gauge...

I raced a guy with a subaru outback this morning from a red light. I let the car shift at 5.5k rpm and the guy was a car length back at 40 mph... I think I should have beat him worse

I say give it a go! according to the whp you posted you sound just about even with the 2k2, unless the new tranny is a miracle worker.and given the fact that he has 300 miles hees not broken in yet gives you an advantage. does this guy know racing his car w/ out it being broken it yet isnt good? o well I guess thats his problem!
Ill definitly be awaiting the results of THIS race!!!

Another ? I have is, do you need to manual shift to get all the goodness out of the auto? If so, it's unlikely he knows about that, and in which case, I'm starting to feel pretty good about it...
As far as the break-in goes, my friend said he's a ****head anyways, and not to worry about it. But I'm not worried about him...I'm worried about that poor Max...

We rode around for 10 minutes in the 2k2, and after my mom told the salesman mine felt stronger, we all rode around a bit in mine and he agreed. Then he was like "but think what you could do if you modified the 2002!" He may still be right, but we'll see...

It sounds like it will be a good race. I think if the guys knows how to brake TQ and shift he will beat you though. BTW although you have simalar peak HP #'s to a 02 Auto you have to remember that the 02's peak #'s are a bit earlier in the power band. He also has a lot of extra TQ down low and a improved tranny{or so I here}. Go out and race him and let us know!
