Telescopic Steering. Do you think it can be done.

I doubt it, isn't the altima a totally different car than the Max, as in, not like swapping an I30 steering wheel?

I didn't think about the infiniti, I'm suprised no one has addressed this yet, what with all the other mods being performed. It would be an excellent mod for people like me, forced to drive with the seat all the way back.

Are you very tall with extremely short arms?

I am 6'1" and drive with the seat all the way back and I can reach the wheel fine.

Maybe a max isn't for you then?

I think it's illegal to mess with steering wheels that have air bags installed on them, so don't count on any dealers helping you out. I'd like to swap the 2K2 steering wheel into my 2K Maxima. Haven't seen it done yet though.

Yeah that's it. I'm 6'3" and my arms and legs are in proportion with the rest of my body, thanks. I think there are alot of tall people driving Maximas that are in denial about how they fit in there car. Example, I sold my wife's '88 CRX to a friend whom is 6'7", 350+ lbs., he ripped the rearview mirror out because it obstructed his view, but other than that he fit in it fine, with the help of a shoe horn.. And to answer the rest of your question, the Maxima will be for me if I can modify it slightly, to fit my needs, just like everyone else here.

Thanks for the info Tanman9. I didn't think about the airbags, it does still sound like something that can be done by profesionals, doesn't it? How hard could it be if everything matched up. Just have to find someone that would do it. Anyone know of any shops in Conn. or NY that might do this kind of mod?

I drove my fathers Pontiac grand prix the other day and i have to agree, the maxima steering wheel is to far back, you dont relize it unless you get into a car that has the wheel closer that its more comfortable.
