fuel filter pic... is this the one for our car
i havent replaced the fuel filter for my 03 yet and was looking to do it tomorrow. i havent seen a pic of what it looks like so im not sure. i was told it is this one but it looks like it would be outside of the tank which i know is not the case.

i dont think this is it but i need confirmation before i start to take it apart. if anyone has a pic could the post it. ive seen threads on changing the filter but no good pics of the filter itself

I doubt this is the fuel filter. When I replaced my 2000 fuel filter it was a paper based filter that was fully and firmly enclosed within a plastic housing.
I would suggest search thro the forums to get the picture of the filter or better off go to a dealer and take a look at the parts counter.

Dunno why you would listen to someone who works at an auto parts store unless they said they have had personal exp. or read about what they are selling you.

auto parts store even if they dont know what thery are talking about the comps they use have parts numbers for stuff like brakes, plugs, filters and stuff that a certain car came with. oh well live and learn. getting my plugs, tranny kit and fuel filter from the dealership today.

The filter is about $12 and the o-ring is about $7. You only need 1 o-ring. Part numbers and how-to located on housecor's fantastic website.

The dealer I called does not stock a fuel filter, nor can order one because they said it was a lifetime filter.
Should I call a different dealer for the parts listed here?
