Anyone know where I could find a new gas door w/hinges? I've been hittin up the classifieds for awhile with no luck, and I'm tired of having a crappy fuel door. I would prefer to buy one the color of my car, (sterling mist), but I'm not sure if there is anywhere I can do that. Thanks!

 

I can probably get a Nissan one at work at a discount,spray it and send it to you if youre interested.

Have you tried e-bay? I've noticed that people seem to be parting out cars there these days. Even if you don't see it listed, you might be able to get some contact info and give them a ring.

the bracket was rusted out when I bought the car, so I would have to wedge a credit card in it to get it to open, got tired of doing that so I did a little ghetto work on it and bent it so it would open when I hit the button. Looks like sh*t but it worked for awhile.

 

mine is squealing wicked bad. i hate putting gas in, i get looks when i open my gas door. how much would one be for a black 2002 gle?

mine one day just started to stick out bout half inch on the hinge side...Have no clue why it did this??? Theres a ding on the door but it just doesn't make any sense

If anyone is still on this forum- I just bought an 01, and alas it has a gas door that is so jammed up it needs a screwdriver to open it (no idea how this occurred). what ended up happening to your doors?

+1 .. my buddy had the same problem .. went to a junkyard .. payed 2 bucks to get in .. walked over and took is right off. problem solved. Took an hour and cost less than a burrito.

 

I would love to do that, but the only JY around me wont let you walk in, and charges an arm and a leg for parts... usualy its cheaper to buy OEM new...

 

If your gas door is jammed up why not spray some WD40 in there to loosen it up... simplist solution maybe?

 

the door is fairly damaged- like a Dog chewed on it for a while. I've molded it back into a shape where i can open it easily with a screwdriver but I think I'm going to need another one. Junk yard is sounding good- anyone know of any walk in junk yards in the Chicago area?

try ebay or local junkyards even if it needs to be resprayed it should not cost much

 

Ah! five junk/car yards in one day and none of them had a gas door available!
at least people in Chicago seem to keep their 5th gen maximas in good shape- though i found a lot of first, second, and third gen maximas.

 

I have the same problem... I just bent the piece of metal that locks it in.
