i currently have a 2000 se with out leather seats and was looking to buy some leather seats from an 03. does anyone know if they would fit with out modication to anything?

 

assuming you have cloth seats with a manual bracket...when you get the leather seats, assuming they come off a motorized bracket, you'll need to the brackets and motors for the leather. those brackets should bolt in to the existing spot. since you have an SE you should already have a wire in your car that you can plug-and-play.

 

so the 2k3 seats are PLUG N PLAY with a 2k maxima?

 

Holes of the front seat brackets will fit but powers will not work. Wiring is completely different!!! You have to swap the cushions from the 2K3 onto your 2K. Rears will fit seamlessly.

 

is there a way to wire in the 2k3 seats into the 2k wiring

 

im sure you can get the wiring schematics for both the 2k2 and 2k3, and hack and slash it to work (basically McGiver it i guess)

 

cut the plugs off the wires and use connectors (butt connectors or whatever you prefer to connect wiring) and connect the the power & ground of the seat to the wires in your car. I did the same thing in my car and everything is working except for the driver's seat...however I think the problem may be in the switches of the seat itself...I'll have to look more into it whenever I get the chance

i got the seats off of the classifieds on the forum for $150 for the front 2 seats and the rear. seats are in very good condition and think this is the best upgrade i did to the car yet

 

I was thinking of doing the same with my front seats.
Was this straight plug and play? I have a 2k GLE (power seats) just wanting to know if it worked without problems.

 

i went to junk yard and cut some wires off the maxs they had there and made an adaptor. worked perfect after a few trys

 

I bought some 03 leathers months ago and quickly installed the rears and passengers in my 00. Do to the different wiring i decided to wait and do research on the driver. Do to some time away i finally got back and decided to finish my project this past weekend. I removed the bottom cushion and back support and bolted it to my 00 frame. I used my 00 switches since for some odd reason the 03 switches wouldnt work with my 00 hraness. I kept my 00 airbag harness (yellow harnes connected to seat pan to back support) since it was already connected to the pan. All works fine (after 3 hours of taking apart running outside connecting, dissconnecting going back in so on and so on) but my airbag light stays blinking. I might try reconnecting the 03 air bag harness and see if that works since the side switches gave me an issue. hope this helps. dissassembling seemed to be easier than playing with wires for me.
