01 ABS Light HELP!!
01 ABS Light HELP!!
The other day I removed the wheel to try and remove the bolt at the bottom of the rear strut, because they are blown and need to be replaced. Unsuccessful at removing the bolt, the tire was put back and the car driven out of the driveway. The next day when I started the car, the ABS light was on. I test drove the car and nothing seemed wrong, the brakes work fine and have plenty of grip. The ABS did not fail when the brakes were rode hard. The car also does not leak any fluids and the brake fluid level has remained unchanged. Any suggestions??? Thanks.
The new ABS sensor should have went in place with little effort. If it was hard to get all the way in you should carefully remove it and clean out the hole with sand paper or a die grinder so it slides in easily. Check your ABS sensor ring on the wheel bearing to make sure it is in excellent shape and not cracked.
the connectors are really crappy i hard wired it when i replaced mine you might try splicing the wires together before buying a new abs sensor

wtf reread the thread lol
Well let me guess? Were you banging on that bolt trying to get it out of that rear strut? Any heavy blows in the vicinity of a sensor cause it to fail! More than likely the magnet inside the pickup is cracked!
