keep the resonator, or get a big aftermarket one.

You WILL hate your car on long trips if you get rid of the resonator.

It's 2.5" in/out and 3" in/out, 28" overall lenght, 24" muffler body lenght, 6" round muffler body case! Cost $149.99 for some good ole T-304 SS!
Why go through all of that to quite down a loud, useless muffler?

Since the stock muffler flows pretty damn good, mufflers are not a performance mod on a Maxima, they are for looks and sound only.

Sooo, as I said before, you can't beat the stock muffler.

for a mildly modded car its not a restriction.

but for my application (supercharged) i believe that its restricting airflow.

i have headers, ypipe, 2.5" piping all the way back, and then the stock muffler, which i believe is like 2" inlet.

im still looking for a stock 2.5" inlet muffler...

i dont even know how to answer this

when a car is supercharged, the stock exhaust becomes restrictive, thats why it is recommended to upgrade to 2.5" or even 3" piping, to let the engine breath better.

I have a 2.5" piping from the cat-back but using the stock muffler, and the stock muffler is only 2" inlet diameter so it obviously doesnt flow as well as 2.5".

when i had my magnaflow streight through 2.5" muffler, it was loud as hell but i felt that it was making more power. I am not going to go and dyno my car every time i change out a muffler.

if you need more proof just ask this question in the supercharged/turbo section.

AFAIK, stock is a 2.25", the extra .25" is not going to make a huge difference on a S/C motor.

Don't you only have a Y-pipe on the front?

Get some headers before you worry about a muffler that is going to make almost zero difference other than sound.

OEM = 2.25. He does have headers, but he never mentioned what brand / type.

If I ever went SC, I'd still keep my OEM muffler.

i might keep my stock muffler, if the STI muffler doesnt work out.

i have yet to dyno my car, so well see what the numbers say.
