Intake

So I got my exhaust installed and now the fever has started. I was looking at the Berk Intake for $150 shipped on their website and it looks like theres really nothing to it. I have a stainless steel pipe that I can cut to size and have a smaller pipe welded for the vacuum line which will look identical to Berks intake. I already have the gaskets/seals and can get an intake adapter/filter on ebay for $20. Any specific reason why I shouldn't have this done and buy the Berk brand?

No reason at all why you shouldn't. BTW, do you have rear wheel spacers?

It must be the sun angle, but that rear wheel looks nice & flush.

I still needed spacers with mine. But, I did not get the staggered set-up. Same size / offset all the way around.

Skip the intake and do the GAB. The loss of end torque for driving around town and minor acceleration on the highway has me really wanting to revert back to GAB. Which will keep low end torque, give a great growl, and provide dyno proven gains.

I know personally before I got the Berk I tried out the "GAB" and honestly noticed no difference in performance and next to no difference in sound. I think your idea of making a custom short ram intake is a great one, I never noticed a loss in low end torque from a short ram intake and the mid-high end gains are well worth it let alone the growl it makes.

Plenty of intake discussion already out there if you search; details on POP chargers, WAIs, CAIs, GABs, homemades, etc.

Short answer: you can make your own, intakes are a simple concept and they pretty much all do the same thing. Gains may vary.
