Engine Clatter

Hey guys I got one quick question. Every now and then when I start my car i get this clatter from the engine bay that last for about 2 seconds or so and then it goes away. Its really hard for me to describe and cant record it because it happens randomly. Typically in the mornings and today it happend late afternoon. After it happens once in a day it doesnt re-appear. The car is 100% stock, changed the oil recently with 5w-30, and it just turned 23k miles. Im not sure if I should be worried or just ignore it. Any help will be appreciated.

it's common on these engines. It's the timing sprocket. There is a bulletin about it too.
I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't know about the clatter sound however, that ticking noise in both the videos, it sounds similar to mine. That ticking noise on my max is coming from the alternator. The ticking only goes away when I stick it in N, every gear including P it's there. I do have to change out the serpentine belt so I'll have my tech guy check the alty at the same time.

Sorry to say but you guys are all wrong.........Tell you what is wrong 100% sure this is you're problem. As we could see on the youtube clip on 00.09 sec. I have the same problem. Took her to the dealership, they did a engine diagnosis. Found that it needs a rear cat and gaskets. They dropped the whole exhaust. Parts and labor is $1100.00, I live in California it's pretty high price. It's that noise on 00.09 sec right.................JASONMAX supplied.

Actually it is 0.3 second long on the video and i would consider it as a light case (yet). Mine does it for 2 sec. now and is getting worse. What i can say it has nothing to do with an exhaust and coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. TSB says it's chain tensioners.

I have a chattering noise as well. i have had my 03 6spd 73k miles for 3 weeks now with no problems then today i went into the store for 30 min and came out and started it and it sounded almost like a broken fan??? as i pulled away it got louder and more severe but after about 20 mph it went away then i came to a stop light and it started doing it again and the rps fell real low then it died. i started it again but it had trouble staying running and it continued to make the noise. I had to keep it at 2k rpms while idleing to keep it running. i drove about 1/4 mile to my house and pulled into the driveway and let it idle and it would not make the noise anymore and it acted like nothing ever happened. I drove around the block to make sure and it drove just fine. please somebody tell me WHAT IS GOING ON???

When I get a fresh oil change, I don't have the cold start chatter. After about 1K-1500 miles after the oil change, the cold start chatter comes back.
