Lately I have been seeing a white film on my exhaust tips and on the rear bumper (only near the exhaust tips)...Is this something to worry about?..I haven't noticed any white smoke coming out of the exhaust during start ups or anything....

It's only that cheap nonpolished steel, that Nissan has used for years! Cut that crap off and weld on some 3" or 2.5" polished SS tips to enhance your looks.....

Get a magnet and see if it sticks to your Magnaflo tips! What do you clean them with! Get a die grinder with a buffing wheel and some metal polish ...You should see some clarity!

It wipes right off with my hand....it's not a matter of having shiny tips...it's the fact that i have a white residue on the exhaust tips and the rear bumper (only on muffler side) that I never noticed before up until recently...I was afraid it was something with the engine...

i would also say water stains from what you're describing. not sure where you live but here in MA, its still in the 40's in the morning and when i warm up the car in the morning, water condensation accumulates near exhust. It usually just goes away but i have a dark max and wash my car often therefore it doesn't have time to accumulate over time.

yep... this is probably exactly what it is. the water condensates there then dust sticks to it.

I hope thats all it is...I've owned the car for five years and never had that before...but hey....if water stains can leave a thick/smooth, white chalky film on the bumper..then that must be it...Thanks guys!!! I was afraid my rings or head gasket was going...

After it warms up for about 30 mins is the condensation/steam still coming out the exhaust? So by the time you make it to work. Is your car still spuing out condensation/steam? Losing any antifreeze/water? Engine Oil level low? Blowing out any blue smoke? Replaced any precats or main cat lately? If you were burning oil your cats will be the first to go....
