Did you check the wires/plugs? My 00 did that and it was the bulbs. I swaped the bulbs and it worked fine.

HID's will make it even more worse since they require a lot of power and they are super expensive.
With HIDs there are several things to worry about, the ballast, the bulb, custom wiring. Also HIDs are likely to run out fast and change color.

I would say like others try to replace the bulb if not then check the wirings.

BTW if you have run higher wattage bulbs in your headlights it's a posibility your plug could be burned. It's happened to a few people i know that put the "Blue" bulbs in their halogen headlights. The fix for this is a new plug, but if you don't feel like doing that you can squeeze the connections together and get a good circut that way.

Where did you learn all that info from? I know HID use less power than Halogen and last longer, but when it breaks it tends to be more expensive to fix! those ballast that Nissan used can be replaced with some of these units found online! Ever removed one? It's a one piece ballast/igniter....but the person with the problem needs to look at his problem a little deeper, it's a easy fix no HID needed!

just for people's knowledge it wasnt the bulb it was the outlet thing that you put the bulb into. i had to bend the bulb metal to stay inside because it kept coming off. the contact was so old and corroded
