Hope it all works out. I tend to agree that if it's running fine now there's not reason to worry that it will fail in the coming future. +1 that a running car will keep running without the battery, unplugging the battery while running is a time-honored way to test the alternator.
I certainly will be doing them myself from now on.

True, but a simple coating is no replacement for oil pressure. Journal bearings don't function correctly without oil pressure.

In any case, I'm not as worried about it as I was earlier. I'm just going to fix the faulty hood pin tomorrow and make absolutely sure I disable my alarm and remote start whenever anyone is working on my car.

Looking for deposits or other gunk that has built up seems to be a normal thing with oil changes these days. The dealer I go to occasionally always drops the pan and takes a look inside the crankcase. Haven't done me wrong yet.

Especially for a lower pan that's such a PITA to drop. I've given up trying not to bend them, I just pound them flat before putting them back on...

It's not easy procedure to drop the pan and reinstall on these VQ's. Sorta why there's a drain bolt.

As is the case for all engines. I know its not necessary to drop the pan for an oil change and I'm sure the shops and dealerships know also, but like I said they probably are looking for more things that "must be fixed" I got a call from the dealership concerning the last Max I owned. They said the engine was filled with gunk presumably because the owner before me never changed the oil You'd only know that if you dropped the pan.

don't kid yourself they don't spend extra $10 on silicone and min 30mins extra on an oil change to drop the pan and probably more if they wait for silicone to dry just to tell you your previous owner did not do his regular LOFs
They look at oil thickness and perhaps colour as they cannot upsell you much on a dirty engine.

Eh, well it seemed like a plausible explanation. At this point I'm more concerned about fixing issues than possible damages. I'll be doing oil changes myself from now on

I think that they pulled the oil pan after starting the engine (with no oil) to look for signs of possible damage from their screwup. NisTech is correct.......no shop will normally pull the oil pan for a routine oil change. If you are looking for sludge or scunge........remove the oil filler cap and look in there. You are more likely to find it there than in the crankcase area. And no......it doesn't take 45 secs. to get oil to the top of the engine. The damage caused by this screwup, no matter how long they apparently ran without oil pressure may NOT be obvious immediately, but that doesn't mean that there has not been damage done.

What year is your car? Just drop by the local autozone and have them check it.

I found the procedure and pulled the codes.
0462-Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Low Input
0650-Malfunction Indicator (MIL) Control Circuit

The first code doesn't seem to have anything to do with what occurred today but, I don't know what the second code means. Does anyone here?

If the CEL codes had anything to do with the engine, driving to autozone to check them might exacerbate the matter.
