Engine hates cold shut down??
Sometimes I pull my car into the garage after it's been parked for several hours on the driveway. I start it, drive in, and shut it down immediately. The engine runs for about 20 seconds tops.
Next time I start the car (perhaps the following day), it idles rough and even puffs some smoke, almost like it was flooded or something.
The only solution I have at this point is to idle the engine for a minute or two to let the engine warm up a bit, then the problem won't happen on the next start up.
Does anyone else have this issue? My car's an '02.
Joe.

Just happened to my 2000. I moved it into my garage before I left for vacation.. Came back a few days later and had a puff of smoke and rough start with high rpm for about 2 seconds. I came right here and searched on it. It ran fine after that. I hope all is ok.

That's normal, and wow, I wish it were still June.
