Wheel Question

I finally sold my truck, so my hubby is going to let me buy some wheels for my Max. I have a question about what I should look for as far as size. (Yes, I did a search, but only seemed to come across 4th gen. info.)

What do I need to know as far as sizing - are bolt pattern and offset about the only things. I already know that I am staying with a 17" rim.

Should I just refer to and trust) these websites that allow you to pick your car and come up with wheels (e.g., tire rack, crusin' gold, etc.)? Any websites for information are appreciated, too.

Thanks,
luvmymax

If you're sticking with 17" wheels, go with 8" width. Yes, the bolt pattern is the same (5 X 114.3) as the 4th gens. All 4th gen wheel characteristics should apply to 5th gens.

I found a wheel I really like - Giovanna Corsica. You can choose the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, but for offset it says "ET40 only." What does this mean? They had no information on their site, and it is almost impossible (at least for me) to hardly ever located bolt pattern and offset information on wheel sites.

Thanks!

the offset is determined by the width. we can't make recommendations unless the width is know. if it's 8" wide, a +40 should fit fine but you should contact the vendor or wheel manufacturer since they are the ones who should determine fitment.
