Three Philips screws for the cover underneath the steering column, remove those, remove cover. Then it'll be self explanatory, you can just use pliers to take out the old bulb and install new rather than further disassemble.

Thats what I figured but the 5th gen cover doesn't seem to be a two piece cover like the 4th gen. My only obstacle would be the turn signal & wiper blade switches.

Check Studman's site for alarm install. He has pictures of trim removal and all. http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/viper791xv/

You might get away with just doing steps 3 and 4. If not, its only 2 screws to take the cover off in step 1. You shouldnt need to do step 2. And while you're in there, put in remote start!

By the way, on my 02 there were only 3 screws holding the steering column pieces together. I guess 5 gen has 4 vs 5.5 gen 3?
