Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and cranking the car that would tell your if your MAF sensor is bad. I had a similar problem I would crank the car and it would shut off but only after driving for a while, never happened on a cold start. But that would be my first suggestion to check the MAF.

Goodluck.

Ooh, throttle actuator. Yeah, most likely the whole TB. It wont let your car start because it can attain a reading from the throttle and its a safety so it doesnt fire it up at WOT when there's no oil pressure.

try cleaning out the maf first, then clean out the throttle body. Clean the throttle with a wet rag not by spraying **** in there, just clean the area around the butterfly valve really well

Have you recently done anything to the intake, manifold area? If so, you might want to check fro a vacuum leak.

Sounds like it is something else, but have you checked if your security light is going solid when you try and start it. If so you have a NVIS problem. I just had that problem and it allows the car to crank and fire for a second some of the time but then immediately shuts it down. (in normal operation the security light should go out when you start the car)

It's not an NVIS problem because it actually starts, just doesn't stay on.
