rattling
Ok so i was almost certain my muffler was rattling against the heat shield but as i was under the car today i notice it wasnt the muffler itself, it was the rear section of the pipe on the muffler banging against the rear axle.Is there a way to resolve this without replacing the muffler?

If you can get under there further check the hangers to see if one is broken or rusted allowing the pipe to move around more than usual. If not bring it to an exhaust shop they should be able to pinpoint the reason.

Check the rubber hangar condition...You can get super tough exhaust hangar mounts from NAPA that are just as good if not better than those expensive Nismo exhaust hangars! Talk to the counter person there a whole book full of all exhaust systems and those important little parts!
If it's not your exhaust (rubber) hangars then maybe a heat sheild rubbing instead of the axle. You can tweak that....
