5 spd Tranny issue

Okay....I THOUGHT all I had was a throw-out bearing and clutch to replace, but turns out, the bad TO bearing not only destroyed the pressure plate springs, but it knocked a hole in the transmission case....

"Lucky" for me the dealer actually carries the bellhousing/case, it's pricey, but less than a whole tranny.

So here's what I think my best options are:

1. Buy a tranny from an org member or ebay $$$$$$
2. Buy the bellhousing/case from nissan $$$$$$
3. Remove my case and repair the hole $$$$$$

Has anyone pulled the bellhousing? Is this a tough job? Do I have to mess with the tranny parts, or does the case just come loose?

Any suggestion/coments are appreciated.

You would have to tear it down to get the bellhousing bare, in order to take it somewhere to have it welded up (assuming it doesn't completely warrant replacement).

Pics?

You can also try to find a tranny at a junkyard.
