axle bearings

Removed steering knuckles/spindle assy to take to the machine shop (that does all my machine work since I was 12 yrs old) to have them press out and press in the new bearings. Well they were closed, Dam! So I decided to take the knuckles down to the closest Nissan Dealer since they were familiar with these parts and do this on a regular basis... Well the tech took the knuckle and bearing and was gone for a while. He tells me I should have bought the bearing/spindle assy...I get my knuckles back and made a big mistake, I didn't inspect them b4 I drove off....The *sshole tech destroyed one of the bearings and didn't say a thing...but I did inspect them once I was home and I was furious! So Monday or Tuesday I'll be back @ that stealership and I'll' try my hardest not to hang my foot up in this techs *ss up 2 my knee. They're gonna buy me 2 new bearings when I'm done with them and I'll go with my original plans....my machine shop I used since I was 12 yrs old! Where the hell are the stealerships getting these sorry tech from?

How much did you shell out to push in the new bearings?

I would rotate the hub to see if they were installed correctly before leaving the machine shop/stealership.

There are too many assssholes in the dealerships....

Gave them $40.00, but I only looked @ one of the assy's (the good one) at the top of the crate I had them in! No, you need to do more than just rotate them, you to wobble the axle and push and pull the axle as well. This jack*ss totally destroyed the bearing cage of the bearing cause he doesn't have a clue of WTF he's doing like so many of these techs in most of these Stealerships. That tech didn't backup/support the inner race and pressed that hub into that bearing and destroyed the bearing cage! Anyway I'll be buying myself one(hydraulic press) for my garage/shop and I'll do it myself like all the hundreds of bearings I've pressed on to everything I've worked on as an aircraft/helicopter technician. Helicopters are full of greaseable and sealed bearing and I know how easy it is to destroy a bearing when you have no clue about WTF you're doing.... Anyway I'll get it all straighten out and that'll be one more reason 4 me to stay away from the stealerships!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
