I have a 2000 5 speed with no mods currently on my car. When the car is in neutral and you floor it WOT the engine will hit a rev limiter at 3500 rpms and continue to rev limit to the true redline of 6600. In first gear only, my car hits a rev limiter at 6100 rpms and then continues up to 6600 rpms. I took my car to the dealer and test drove a 01' 5 speed and it didnt have any of the problems as stated above. I could rev it straight to redline in neutral and sift at 6600 in 1st gear. The dealer is basically saying that the car is running fine and they cant find anything wrong. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with my car?? Is my tachometer off or is there something major wrong with the engine??
