O2 Sim and Resistor install

I got my o2 sim and resistor from o2simulator.com. Im looking in the FSM and so Red Yellow is power, Red Blue and Pink Black are heated part and whites are o2 and blacks are ground. So i got the o2 sim to both whites, one of the red yellow for power and one black for ground. The resistors from each heated to the other black (ground). The resistor they gave me was 20w 20ohms though in FSM it says continuity should be 2.4-4.6 when ignition is off. Is this correct for the resistor they gave me?

I used that write-up as well. Works like a charm. GL!

I think the diagram is incorrect on which wire to wire the resistor to. The heater is the colored wire. O2 output is white wires. Says it in FSM and this install guide for o2 SIM
http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...tallation.html

They gave me 20w 20ohm. The diagram shows 10w 15ohm. Is it safe to use what they gave me or should I get the 10w 15ohm?

it could be that the colors of the wiring are different on the I30/I35

I was just wondering if anybody knew the correct way to attach the resistors on a 03 Max to simulate the heater signals needed to get rid of codes P1147/1167, because I asked a couple of people on here and they had different answers? I have (4) 10W 10ohm resistors and was trying to use andyman's diagram mentioned above, but it seems different for an 02-03 Max. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

scroll to 504. Its the wire diagram to your exact code. Looks like same wiring color scheme. HRR = Heater R | SRR Sensor Right on ECM

Great find!
How are the resistors attached to the two heater wires? Is it like this: (Heater wire)-(resistor)-(resistor)-(ground wire)??

yea so, i fails. I got 2 new codes. Both for resistors. Im using 20ohm 20w they gave me from o2 sim. I am assuming these are wrong. Where can I get 10w 10ohm resistors? P0141 P0161. What do yall think?

I followed that same diagram, after following the info about 20ohms as well. Finally, after installing some 4ohm 50watt (watt's don't matter, just effects heat build-up and the life of the resistor) which matched the fsm's listing of 2.3-4.3 I finally eliminated the heater codes on that persons vehicle. NOW, the thing is, I couldn't find any resistors that were 50watt (come with a nice big aluminum heatsink around casing, the regular 25 watt ceramic ones WILL BREAK) that had less than a 10% tolerence, well because 10% of 4.0 = 4.4 I ordered three just to be safe, but I don't think it would have been a problem anyways.

So for the 3.0's use a 4ohm 50 watt for best results. Manny same deal for resistor specs.

I got them from Radio shack, $1.99 for 2. I also bought a black box ($2) and enclosed everything in them, looks clean and nice. Let me know if you have any other questions, tried the setup last night and so far so good. Only time will tell.

No it is not. 99 had different wire colors. They use red/black for power and red for heater. White is still signal and black is ground.

Wow, quick posters.... ill give the 4ohm xx-watt a try and let yall know.

Same deal for 02/03's as well. Jesse (Ninja Edit) If the codes come back let me know, they probably will, nevermind I'll dig up a link for you to order from.
