Labor to st up install 500.00
So basically if i wanna go down to jersey to get this done, he told me to make an appointment, and my car will have to be worked on for 5-7 hours. Labor charges runnin kinda high nowadays huh?
500 bucks to put it in?? and out???? damn

Vb recal is nice but I say go to level ten theres is more agressive. yes it's more expensive but prob more worth it. Don's is ok but not the gretest. Maybe what you really wanna look at is the level 10 tranny rebuild kit. Helps everything for abou 800 bucks.

Any way with don's vb mod he say's it takes about 3-5 days to turnaround. Which means 12 days.
12 days hahahah try 2 months
The level ten tranny shifts really really hard.
Like hurt your kidneys hard.
think about that if its your daily driver no way

the dude has an automatic! Why the hell are you telling him to get a Catback and Intake? Those things only gain power in high rpm!
Where do I go to get a VB upgrade? and how much does it cost roughly. Also if I get a Y-Pipe mod, will I pass emmission tests in NYC?

We'd be glad to bring you in, and show you wassup.
The VB Mod was done by myself on my black car, having a few problems, so I'll be sending the VB to Level Ten for VB and TC.
..Assassin which is in Suffolk County's possession has a full Level Ten rebuild, HD Transmission rebuild w/ new clutch packs, cryo-stress relieved gear, a custom VB, and 2500rpm stall speed TC, Hayden 406 Tranny cooler w/ AN fittings. Earl's Oil Cooler w/ remote filter.
That level 10 rebuild is teh 3g one right???? Not teh 800 buck one...just wanted to make sure. How does he like it...or if he sees it how do you like it. Does it seem to put more power down and shift alot faster and much stronger? Give me some detail!!!!!!!

Was my impression you could work with Don to have him send you a VB already done and you just needed to send him yours - essentially swapping the new VB in as soon as you remove yours, thus NO downtime. I'm sure a small deposit/core charge would be in order to make sure no one runs away with a free VB though.

and you're joking about making your tranny last longer right?

You can remove the vb yourself but i dont trust myself with all that so if i wanna do it..id probably go down to levelten in new jersey and ask them to do it for me. if its 1000 installed intsead of like 1200 <- the quote that i got from Pat at levelten..i think its worth looking into. its no joke that your transmission will last longer because the vb mod lowers tranny temp and "optimizes" shift points.

the valve body consists of a few cost effective parts.. ie spring adn washers for teh 5th gen.. if you dont' like down time look into the transgo shiftkit.. (well the down time is hwen you're workign on your car) don tends to have a busy schedule, so i suggest, if you have the patients get it through him, or if you can get a hold of a 5th gen core send it to him, have it modified, and then swap it out when it comes back.. the wait really varies.. a byproduct of the vb mod is a mild buzz.. the severity of the buzz varies... all of the cars that i've been around that has the vb mod has the buzz.. mine unfortunately just has the loudest one.. despite the noise, it works fine.. for some reason i think some air is getting pushed through the valve body creating little bubbles.. but as long as the thing works, and nothing is banging, clinging, or falling off the car, i guess it should be fine..

But my *bbbbbzzzzzzzzzzzz* isn't close to being as loud as yours. Your car is like a ticking time bomb waiting to blow.

Maybe we'll get a group deal from L10. Hehehe
