Recirculation button on Climate Control not working

Old question, nerver was answered, IIRC, but I'll ask anyway

Recirc button on my Climate control is not allowing outside vents to close, anyone ever figure out how to resolve this?

Have you tried running the diagnostics on it? The steps are in the FSM.

Dammit, I was hoping I would not have to resort to that. OK, time to hit the books. I'll post on my findings.

can you feel the change of wind noise when you hit the button? I might be just a LED light.

Nah, I wish. No pressure change = inlets are not closing.

Ok, looks like I'm going to need a multimeter and some time with harnesses M83 & M57. I'll have to get to this some time during the week. Step I is done...

Yeah, it's going to be a treat, although I am going to be happy to have a write-up to help out other members at the least.

Metal... did you ever find time to do that write up bro??? Mine is doing the same thing. Found your thread during a search, and you so abruptly ended it without the write up. Just wondering what your fix was.

thanks,

For whatever reason, the button wears out over time. Replace climate control module and you should be good to go. Thhis solved my problem, I can help you troubleshoot if this does not fix the issue.

You da man!!! I'm going to give that a go, and report back. Thanks.

IDK if it matters but my light on the button still will come on, just not hearing the "flaps" move and the air current pick up like it did when it was working, is that what yours was doing? Mine is the automatic climate control.

You know.... towards the end there I could here the "flapper" or the door more-so than before. Is it up under the dash, and/or easy accessable? You might be right.

It looks like the control module is going to be a dealer only thing, you remember how much you paid, by chance?

Again thanks.

OK, I am going to ask a dumb question. My recirc light only lights when I am using the main A/C vents.

Is this how it should be??

When I run the A/C on defrost to clear the windshield, I'd like to be in recirc.

When I run the A/C on defrost to clear the windshield, I'd like to be in recirc. Can't do that, the system uses the same duct work to recir the air; that system uses to defrost the windshield

I'd go with junkyard or parts car off the forum first - that will likely be a very expensive part from the dealer.

IIRC, you have to remove the glovebox and passenger airbag to view it...or the center console...but you can view it without removing the dash...

$25 on eBay. They are a dime a dozen nowadays. Sit tight until you can get one for under $40 from there.

Hey metal sorry to chime in on the older thread, but I too am having the same problem, I can't control the vents from upper to feat. When I press the mode button you would normally hear the flaps open and close, but no more. I have taken the blower off, which does work. And see both flaps in a open position. So at this point despite changing the temperature I get only cold air at the feet. Another strange find is I park my car in a heated garage so it's about 70 in the winter, when I press the amb temp button it shows -22 degrees? I am off to borrow a friends code reader to see if any codes getting produced. I am looking at the climate control module gone bad? Any thoughts? Sorry about jumping in a little off topic

Doubt you'll get any results from the code reader.

It may be the temperature sensor too....

Yes, I didn't get codes all pass, so just ordered another heat/ac module from eBay. Funny enough now getting blinking airbag led? Lol when it rains it pours! Thanks for input
