stock radio issues
Has anyone had a problem with the stock basic radio front speaker channel going in and out intermittently? I've heard of Bose issues but thought the basic radio was pretty solid. thx

I'm having a problem where my left side speakers (F and R) come and go under acceleration and braking. I think it's a loose wire somewhere but I am not looking forward to taking the head unit out to look for it. Hoping there is a solution without too much disassembly

My lighting went out on my head unit and the disc changer did not play most cd's. I think those head units are a piece of junk. The dash is easy to remove so I would check the wiring on the back of the head unit and on the speaker.

Not really. Mine's still running strong. The only problem I have sometimes is the CDs stick and need a little nudge when I put them in.
OP: Check for corrosion first. When I pulled my door panels off, a little moisture had managed to get in (somehow?) and had corroded the terminals around my stock speaker on the front passenger side. I just tossed it and got myself a nice set of Pioneers for the front.
If all else fails, then pull your head unit apart...

The only car I ever had those kinds of issues with was the IS300 I had. The six-CD changer loooved to eat my CDs.

All you have to do is disable SCV on the head unit. Surprised no one mentioned that yet. I used to have problems with volume suddenly going lower until I disabled SCV. Note: this was for the volume in general; if you have individual speakers cutting out, the problem is elsewhere.
PS: SCV = Speed Controlled Volume.
