Another one bites the dust...
sorry, i am not parting the car out. it's owned by the insurance company now. i was only able to get my personal belongings...
i am still shopping around for another car and most likely it won't be another maxima. the 6-speed ones are impossible to find where i live and the one that i was able to find seems to have had the crap beaten out of it. also, i think i want a car that handles and rides better than maxima (se) without having to modify it. this was my second maxima and i think it's time to move on... but i may be back though, who knows.

I was thinking the same thing. That tire looks pretty bald.
Sorry for the loss......but
on the G35. A friend of mine just got an '08, but unfortunately the mortgage and the girlfriend keep me from being able to afford one.

If the insurance company owns it that car will be back on the road.
Yes, it's hurt bad, but some body shop will buy it at auction for a good price and throw it on the frame machine.
Rear door, quarter and bumper and a couple of running gear parts and away it will go to some poor unsuspecting kid.
Someone can fix it right and you'll never have a problem, but more than likely they won't and allot of the stuff underneath will be just patched together and covered with undercoating to hide.
Happens everyday.
And depending on the insurance company it might not even have a salvage title. And the body shops know which ones will do that.
CarFax is the only way to know.

Yes, nothing happened to me, thanks to everyone for their concern. Let's just say that I have been driving the same route to work for 12 years and that it happend at night and involved standing water. Feel free to make what you want out of that.
I am sure many cars with bent frames get repaired and sent back to auctions. I am not sure how well they can repair the bent suspension mounts in the back because the beam pushed the left wheel out too, but if that happens I hope that whoever buys it stays safe and has better luck with it.
The car had a "new" (34K miles) 6sp transmission put in at 92K miles (about 1K miles ago) and ECU reprogrammed for the new MAF two days before the accident. Never burned a drop of oil. I was going to drive it forever...

Um, no. It's worth more in parts to a junk yard then it is to a body shop.
Salvage yards pick up totaled cars, they in turn pay the ins. company for it's value in parts. There is a formula to determine it's value. That car is worth a good $$ in the salvage parts world also known as LKQ parts.
