Any exhaust shop can expand piping to slip over another pipe of the same diameter.

Do you want a specific universal muffler? Why not just get a rear section that'll bolt right up?

Take it to an exhaust shop, they'll be able to make it work.

im buying an aftermarket rear section from ebay....i dont want a "factory" replacement because i already had the pipe that bends over the rear axle replaced 5 months ago so i was figuring a muffler shop could make a 2.5 '' mount up.

If you're buying a rear section, then it should just bolt up.

Unless you're saying that you had the flange removed?

Regardless, yes, an exhaust shop can make it work.

if by "the flange" you mean the bolt on piece to the "midpipe" then yes

Yes. Don't know why you put 'the flange' in quotes, that's what they're called.

Anywhere you're putting a gasket between two 'bolt on pieces', that's a flanged connection.
