Muffler Question..

put mine on , and noticed today that it hits the rear bumper and is melting the plastic. what can I do to lessen this problem, in other words, how can i make it seperate a bit from the bumper so it doesn't hit it and melt it??

Buyers beware, local pick up recommended. Slow to ship out items already paid for.

what muffler did you put on? I ran into the same problem with mine. The aftermarket muffler is smaller than the stock muffler, thats why that happens. I'm having my back bumper repainted because it had a ton of scratches and when it was repainted it didnt match the metal flake. i could have that part cut a little when its repainted. not sure otherwise. i wanted to weld the stock hangers to the aftermarket muffler...try that?

I ended up bending the passenger side hanger so the muffler would sit lower, since the right side was the part that hit. I believe i bent the hanger up a little. Be careful because the welds holding the hangers on are not very strong, so too much pressure can break the welds off. So do this at your own risk.the tipnow has a bit more space between it and the bumper, and only a small bit of plastic melted onto the tip.
On another note, I love how subtle the sound of the exhaust is. Not too loud, and just right. I also like that the whole exhaust tubing is mandrel bent. Other than the weak hanger welds, I have no other complaints. As has been mentioned before, it is a good product for the price

I have it on my 3.0 (stock y/cat/b-pipe) and I really like the way it sounds. Not too loud, but loud enough when accelerating, also no rasp at all on mine

here is a vid of it on my 3.0 5th gen(for those of you wondering how it would sound on the VQ30). Just have a GAB, everything else is stockhttp://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t=MVI_0741.flv. the exhaust tone get a little lower after it has been on for a while.

thanks man i cant wait now, only thing i did to my intake was to drill 3 1¼ holes in bracket that supports the oem filter. a few more days!! btw did you have to bend the brackets at all so it dont hit the bumper?

yes I bent down the front ones a bit, but be careful as the welds that hold them together weren't too strong on mine(had to re-weld one of them)

HI you guys, I'm new to the forum and i am looking to buy a new cat-back with a deep throaty sound with a good performance.
I was looking into cat-man cat-back and GReddy but the price is too high.
Megan sounds like a reasonable price and in eBay they have that tsudo N1 cat-back for 100 bucks, good price but is it reliable?
Any suggestions would help. Thanks
