Complicated window switch problem, Experts help please!
Ok, so I was putting blue LEDs in my passenger window switch/door lock switch and I bumped the leads from an LED on the circuit board somewhere, it sparked and popped, and now the window switch doesn't work from that switch OR the master switch on the driver's side... THEN i was poking around in the driver's side master switch wiring with a voltage tester, and when i stabbed one of those wires the passenger window started to come down!!! And now I can't roll it back up! Does anyone know of a way I can simply roll it up? If I buy a new passenger switch that should fix the problem right? Because I think I may have just fried something on the circuit board... I'd just really rather not buy a whole new switch

A new one is very pricey

Yeah, i checked the fuses cuz i've blown a few before doing stuff ... it's not that because when I stabbed one of the driver's side switch wires with a voltage tester the window rolled down on the passenger side! so weird! I think it's just the switch... but here's my new problem: I went in to the dealership today to order a new switch (mine is a combo circuit board for window switch AND door lock switch on the passenger side) but in their computer at the dealership it shows that they're 2 separate switches. It's an '02. GYEAHH!!!

sounds like when you stabbed the wire you must have completed the circuit and rolled down the window. i bet you had the ground stabbed in somewhere else also when this happened.if so you could make a jumper to roll it back up?

yeah, they had my vin number and looked it up... the parts guy ordered what he thought may be the part but it wasn't illustrated on his computer program... there was a part # but he wasn't sure if it's the right one cuz strangely, there's no picture... we'll see if it's the right part.

I just used a voltage tester that has a wire you clamp to metal and it lights up when you stab a wire with current running through it... can it actually ground a wire that doesn't have a current running through it if you poke it??
