^ Yeah, I was going to say, a test-pipe shouldn't throw an CEL.

May I also add, it is pretty cool seening a round 2 back-order rally. Stay persistent my friends, and don't be shocked if it takes up to half a year to get serious interest! Ask myself, The Law or maxurlife for some rallying pointers

Nah!!! back-order rallies usually go a lot faster; especially after some real-time numbers....

As soon as I get a pulley installed, I think I'll tune and dyno. I have to find a proper DJ248 around here in Arizona. All I know is that driving, my midrange has definitely increased. Yes, the only way to prove this is via dyno, but feel wise is all i have for now.

P.S. - It's so good to see all this interest! Thanks again Brian, you're the man!

another way is timing how long it takes you to go through a particular gear at WOT.. i like the ue 2nd and 3rd.. if the time is shorter, then you're making more power.. but you have to make sure everything is equal.. you gotta start from the same speed, and test it on the same road.. if you're on even a slight incline or decline, its gonna throw your numbers off

Not a bad idea. Of course, I never took a base time before I installed the exhaust. It feels as if I am shifting in quicker intervals in WOT. I don't WOT all too much though. I'll just be patient and wait for the funds for the pulley and tune.

How are the 2nd orders coming along?

It should have been but, alas - There was no tuning involved. So, here are the conditions:

Remove stock exhaust replace with Cattman 3". No tuning. No computer reset. Same grade Gas from the same station. about 6 Days of driving, some hwy some City. See sig for mods:

Baseline Taken 31Jul09 553P 83F 49%Hum uncorrected. 210 WHP 220 Tq

Restest Taken 06Aug09 702P 90F 32%Hum uncorrected 214 WHP 220 Tq

Now, here's the thing. these numbers were posted in the 6K rpm range. in the 3-4K range there was a loss, most likely due to backpressure loss.

In lieu of the numbers above - the max responds very smooth and aggressively under all throttle conditions in all rpm ranges. this morning I was rolling and pretty good in first or second. Clutch was out. I mashed the throttle to get out the way and actually chirped the tires. That has never happened unless I'm working the clutch. So I'm not too sure that dyno run is accurate. It just doesn't feel true.

The tech did say that the warmer temp and the warmth of engine is probably bringing it way down..."Heat Soak" is what he called it.

Well that's my story Take it for what it's worth. Would I buy this system again. Honestly - Yes. The sound is exactly what I want. My vehicle response is far better than OEM. I also want to go FI in the future.

I do plan on getting another dyno at another local shop just to see how the numbers change. If they do.

question - Does anyone know of a website or method to calculate the power loss or gain due to weather differences?

I know that each 10 degrees of temperature increase in the intake charge is 1 horsepower loss. At least that is what I have heard.

I don't see headers in your mods list, is that true? Given that one fact your numbers don't surprise me too much and they arent SAE corrected.

Every 10 degrees higher is a 1% loss in horsepower.

your sig didnt come up in that post.. what are ur mods? and yeah, heat soak is an issue, but that little bit of a difference in temp shouldnt matter that much... and i think your system is making more than 4 horsepower.. there was a loss around 3-4k? my butt dyno felt a nice increase thoughout the powerband way more than 4.. maybe its the fact that i have headers/y-pipe

My butt says the same thing....ok so I was driving around tonight and the break loose occurs at about 5K in first gear, more often than not and near but not fully WOT. I agree with you 110%...Mods are only WAI (Stillen) Exhaust and grounding kit.

I know it's creating more than 4hp....I'm sure it is - how else do you break loose from accleration w/out fondling throttle? I'm a little irritated; but not at manufacturing - I'm just not too sure about the local shops...Ya know???

Don't worry about what you peak at! Did you gain big numbers in midrange range? Get headers and you'll really wake the beast! I'm sure anxious to see how much more whp/wtq some of the header equipped Maximas are gonna make. The FI crowd will see the best results in the area of quicker spoolups due to the lower back pressure when exiting the exhaust ports!

So I heard that there's a 17% loss in power just from drive train. Then add on top of that another 6% from temp changes... I'm not sure how the acutal math works.

What were the corrected numbers? The correction logarithms in the dyno software that account for the three "weather" variables - temp, humidity and atmospheric pressure - aren't perfect and they vary between dyno machine companies, but better than dead reckoning. Temp is the #1 factor of the three, but unfortunately a lot of dyno shops don't measure or look up the humidity. Did the same technician do the run each time and were you on the same tank, or at least brand/grade, of gas? These factors are actually quite important.

Currently buying all new rubber hangers.

If anyone wants the part numbers from Courtesy Nissan, they're:

20650PA
20651M (2)
20650 PB

EDIT: Found out I can use hose clamps for free! No more rattle of any kind, woo hoo!

Go to NAPA! Thier hangars are less expensive and are heavy duty (Solid rubber) like the NISMO hangars! $2-$4 each
