problem with Locks and Keyless

Ok guys, did a little searching, didnt see anything relevant to my situation so i thought i would ask.....

I was driving home today, sitting at a red light, all of a suddent the car shuts off. Cold turkey. No lowering of RPM's, just a quick shut off. Kinda like a plug pulled out on it. it wasnt like a stall. more like if you resetted the computer.

Anyways, the car starts back up just fine, and i proceed to going home. When i get home to lock the doors, i notice the keyless doesnt work. So i figure the battery wore out. well trying to lock with the key only locks the front door, none of the rest. So i figure my battery somehow died, however, i try to turn on the headlights with the keys out, and sure enough they turn on.

Is it possible somehow my locks just went out? I am guessing its somewhat related to the sudden shut down of my car, but i cant figure out whats going on. any help is would be greatly appreciated.

I'll have to look into the FSM, but I'm wondering if a faulty NATS or SECU would cause this. Doesn't sound like a "door lock" issue.

you mean the security ECU? that could be possible. for what its worth, the red security light still blinks as if its active in the car.

Is it possible the security system died on me while the car was running, thus killing the engine at that time? and how's is that related to the power locks?

Yeah, the NATS (security module) is also tied into the SECU (smart entrance control unit). The SECU is what controls the keyfob and some other things.

1. check fuses
2. check remote fob battery
3. check door lock actuators

What does the keyfob and lock actuators have to do with the car just shutting off?

hey VQ, out of the blue today my keyless and power locks started working again. what gives? maybe a loose wire, or signs of a control device about to call it quits.

Look over your battery cable connections too. A loose battery connection can cause some weird symptoms as well. I don't have anything else to suggest other then hooking your car up to a Consult machine to troubleshoot the modules.
