REPLACED BRAKE PADS!!! HELP!!!!

well I replaced the front brake pads on my 02 maxima. and bled the lines as well. but when I have the car off it has pressure in the lines but when the car is on it loses pressure and the pedal goes to the floor with ease.

we didnt take anything off, except the calipers to get the brake pads off.

any solution?

also we test drove it around the block and the wheel area got really hot and noticed the calipers were not releasing any ideas?

well we bled the lines and got all the air out...but when we replaced the pads they were too frickin big and wouldn't even let the wheel spin freely so I just put the old ones back on that still have alittle more meat left on them. and my braking is back to normal. except when I brake hard at 80 it has a jerking feeling...maybe something wrong with the rotors?

The rotors are warped for sure. The new pads may have been defective or improperly installed. Exchange them for a new set and try again. If problem persists, replace the front calipers as you may have one hanging up.

Why would you replace the pads without turning the rotors?

You mean the OP has uneven pad material that's been transferred to the rotor... Turn the rotors with new pads and you should be good to go (unless you do a lot of spirited driving, like autocross).

Except in the case of vibration, it's not necessary.

Maybe he wanted to improve pedal feel...? Or replace the fluid?

Why? No harm, unless there's a vibration. I'm reusing my Hawk HPS with RTP blanks. The HPS have about half the tread left on them.

Make sure you didn't accidentally break a hose and bleed and rebleed until the pedal feels firm again.

Who needs brakes? Just run the car into the tree like those tweakers in Arkansaw who were trying to defraud the insurance company.

The only problem was the insurance company got ahold of billybob's camcorder that had the video of them repeatedly ramming the car into the tree.

One of the tweakers ratted him out for some fresh green glass yummmm.

Anyway just kidding I think you should bleed the brakes again or even tow that sucka to a brake shop.
