Power Windows
#4
Mine will barley make it up now. It has progressively gotten worse in the last month. I am thinking about buying the motor and regulator off of ebay, has any one had any experience with ebay parts? Also is there anything special needed when changing out the power window motor?

Im asking because on some cold nights, i will have to grab the driver window and pull it up while the motor is helping.. its not so bad on hotter days.. I hate that..
One more thing, I dont know if anyone else has this prob or its just my car, when the drivers window rolls up it kinda gets pushed forward. anyone else see this?

While the window is down, clean the channels/tracks with a wet rag. Then take water based silicone spray and spray it in the channels. It will fix it temporarily until things get dirty again.
Do a search for slow windows next time and you'll come up with a lot of results.

I see this all the time, roll down the window, clean the channels, put some grease, roll the window up and down a few times to get the grease lower in the channel, roll window down, wipe any grease that on top of the channel. roll window up and clean the glass if some got onto the edges to far in. Works like a charm all the time. Do this sooner than later before you kill your motor.

The directions could not be more straightforward. Go buy some water-based silicone (try Autozone, or any parts store or Home Depot). Lower the window and clean the track with a wet rag, up and down where the window travels. Then spray the silicone spray up and down the track to lubricate. Move the window up and down and it should move more freely.

My windows were slowing down quite a bit towards the end of the winter. I finally installed my grounding kit last night and it helped a lot. But like nsnrider said, I will lube it soon before I kill the motor.

I cleaned channels/tracts with this product and found that of all the stuff I've tried in the past this stuff works the best. Even in the cold the windows fly up and down!
