hey guys, my foglights are all cracked... is there a plastic replacement anywhere? i searched and found threads that were like 5 years old... i was hoping something else popped up since then... thanks!

I know you can find some yellow ones on ebay, and I think the lens is plastic. Their maybe clear plastic ones on there too. But I always hear that the plastic ones crack from the heat of the bulb...

from Ebay and they have been on my car for more than a year now and they are just fine no cracking or scratched up lenses.

I went on ebay and only see the plastic yellow fogs for the 00-01 which I believe the OEM's are plastic. Are the one's you got for 02-03?

the ones I bought were for a 2000/2001 from an Ebay store called 4Car Option .

The whole point of this thread is to replace the stock fogs of an 02-03 which have glass lenses with fogs that have plastic lenses. As confirmed over and over again, the 00-01 fogs do not fit an 02-03.

i wish there was a company that made a plastic replacement lens, basically same as the glass factory one but plastic, cuz thats all most ppl need is the lens, not whole fog

When I go to replace the 6k bulb in the fog is there a way to clean the lens? It has some water in it and it appears to just be kinda "fogged" up. I'm assuming turn it upside down for the water to come out but is there a cleaner or any recommendations for this?

blow a hair dryer in there

on the hair dryer......and run some silicone sealant around all the possible places where water can get in to prevent it in the future.

IMO don't waste your time on ECRAP! They specialize in just that...crap! Buy the fogllight kit(Courtesy Nissan) it's less expensive than buying the light assemblies individually...invest in protecting your glass lenses with Lamin-X or Mats.com protective film that I've been using for 6yrs no incidents just trouble free! That was courageous in post reply #3 but the film is proven and easier to install and feather light! On those Ebay...foglights they're thinner and tend to crack just from the heat of the bulbs alone!!!!!

Yeah a link would be nice, I would think a protective film would be condusive to keep the fog light lens itself stronger. As long as it admits the same type of strong light...I hope im reading what you're saying right.

i think its partially heat related too, which the plastic lens would be more durable too. For example, the bulb heats the lens, then cold water splashes onto it and cools really quickly and you get cracks.

So I think I am going to get new OEM fogs, films, and 35w HIDs to hopefully reduce some of the heat from the 55w bulbs. Maybe then, I'll have some decent looking fog lights for more than a month.

Seriously one of the worst design parts on our cars.
