How should I Break-In new rotors and pads??

Alright, so I'm installing new RTP slotted and drilled rotors with new PBR ultimate pads. Since both will be new, after the install and during the initial drive, how should I break in both? Any advice will be much appreciated. I want to make sure its somewhat broken in before hitting the highway for some faster driving and braking.

and also, I had very bad luck with RTP rotors from the group deal awhile back. NEVER again will I buy anything RTP. I'll dig up the thread so you will have a visual example of terrible rotors that warped and had hairline cracks after about 3k miles.

Feast your eyes... Is there something wrong with these rotors/pads?

So did you get replacements? And there were still bad?

Don't let a few bad experiences from others get you down, it happens. Just inspect all your rotors prior to installation and bed them in properly.

FWIW, I have RTP blanks up front and they came perfect, and are still in great shape after about 9,000 miles.

I did not get replacements...like I said in that thread, I had to leave that Friday for Florida for a few months so it was basically impossible to do the swap that quickly. I asked if new rotors could be sent immediately so I could install before driving there but that was a no-go.

True, this was only one bad experience, but let me be clear that the rotors were cleaned and inspected, and broken in by someone with 30+yrs exp. I understand that it is inevitable to get a bad product here and there, but I was not pleased with the way the seller handled the situation. He could have been a bit more helpful considering my situation, instead of telling me to fill out a return form when I had clearly stated I would be driving 1200miles to Florida on junk rotors. (obviously still a little bitter about this )

Anyways, good luck with yours. What made you get the drilled and cross slotted?

Yea I know. I'm not down just a little more cautious now with the rotors. I did look at them and they check out ok. Oh and thanks for the links...I def. didnt find those last night when I was searching..probably because I was sleepy and tired.

Damn that sucks..sorry to hear that. I originally wanted to get slotted because I know about the cracking with the drilled. However some pep talk from a few friends and I decided screw it and just get the drilled slotted. In my head Im telling myself its going to stop better and dissipate heat but in my heart I know its pure cosmetic.

Yeah i pretty much wont run any drilled rotor on any of my cars, because they simply dont have the life that slotted or blanks have...that and pads dont really need to 'out gas' anymore so drilled is pretty much a dead technology.
