drivers side oil leak... what to check for?

I went out to my car this morning and there was a wet spot on the ground behind my front drivers side tire. The wheel well is wet also. I got down to look but my car is too low to really get a good look. The clutch feels fine, the brakes feel fine and the CV axle is fine. I'm going to put it up on a lift and check it out after work but what should i look for? How do i pinpoint a leak if everything in that area is wet with oil? all i know is its somewhere on the drivers side. If the transaxle isn't sealed properly how would i fix that just torque everything down?

to pinpoint, you gotta clean it all up and see what's leaking.
