Intake and coil over
Hey guys, I have a 2001 nissan maxima gle. I'm currently doing mods to her. I'm looking for a intake and coil over spring to drop the car lower. Please advice best brand and a where to buy it. I'm looking to spend about 300-500 dollars.
Thanks,
Khemraj.

nowhere... you prolly wouldnt find a used coilover set for them prices... just check ebay and get some lowering springs, and intake... budgets way too low... coil over is one word also... coilovers... also, do a lil research, coilovers include the coilover shocks also... sure your not just talking about lowering springs???... not to sound ignorant or mean, but i wish i could get a set up like that for those price... my K-sports coilovers which im sure a lot have negative things to say about cost $750 off ebay, and thats not the higher brand in coilovers

u wont find coilvers ANYWHERE for that cheap.....at least NOT working good condition ones anywat....
As far as an intake...what were you looking for Short Ram? long style "CAI"? or a replacement filter for the stock air box....or did you want a GAB?
also if you search these things tend to show up alot

As far as intakes go, if you must get one (OEM airbox is the best bet for total power under the curve), I'd recommend the JWT Pop charger.
You can find it on courtesyparts.com, it's $120 and it sounds mean and aggressive. I love it.
Other options that are available new are Berk (comes with a midpipe as well) and Stillen (same design as JWT).
For a drop it's going to be hard to do something in your budget. As mentioned above coilovers are going to start over $500, and if you're looking for the best drop, best handling, best ride all in one, it's going to be well over $1k for new ones. (JIC Magic, Tein SS, etc.)
Springs and shocks would drop your car and give you better handling. Running H&R Springs with Tokico Illumina shocks seem to be the most popular choice here. Other spring options are Tein and Eibach, and shocks are available from KYB as well.
Performancewise, look into a new Y-pipe from Warpspeed or Cattman. For 2000-2001 Maximas this is the most worthwhile bolt on available (250ish). Headers are getting cheaper too and if you have time or know someone who can install them they can be had for around $380. Look into tuning options such as a Wideband O2 and VAFC or Emanage to tune your fuel maps (Maxima fuel maps are designed for those who like to use 87 octane, so there is some headroom for power gains here).
If your car is a manual, get a Fidanza flywheel. If it's an auto, look into upgraded valvebodies or Suprastick.
Beyond this, there are plenty of other options for power and handling, so continue looking around.
/spoonfeeding.

dont count out maxspeed springs, theyre cheap and "can" be run with stock struts. thats a super cheap option, i ran that for a bit til i went the other way and got jic's
just dont got he ebay intake route, spend a few bucks right the first time. trust me on that one. also make sure u have a working maf, thatll drag u down more power than an intake will add ya.
look for a y pipe best bang for the buck. id say its an easier option than cheap headers.
and dont forget about timing advances, theryes a few hp there depending on what ur tootin around with now, i got mine bumped for like 20bucks back in the day
modding aint cheap but that doesnt mean u gotta throw huge chucks of money away. read lots of stickies and research well.
best of luck with the modding.
