Rear end noise

if someone can point me in the direction of a thread that sounds familiar, please do.

i have a 01 max, with all mods listed below. when i ride into a parkinglot or off the road, and the driveway is a steeper incline, which kinda makes me do the one wheel at a time thing, i get a clanking noise under the rear of the car.

kinda sounds like something is banging around in my spare tire well (which it isnt)

i cant tell whether the sway bar is hitting the axle housing or if its that odd looking piece just after the rear axle. no performance issues that i can notice. thanks in advance

If you didnt try to make your exhaust move up and down ones down there, I would say to maybe go back, take down the rear passenger wheel and play with it. Thats where my issue is... The attachement to the aluminum plate between the gas tank and the spare(If I'm not mistaking), broke off. Which would probably explain the impression of spare tire well noise. Does it make the noise when you hit bumps?

If that isn't the issue, you might want to check your suspension area for broken or loose rubber seats(bushings?) or just loose joints around these areas... you never know.(move things around) Or go as far as bouncing the rear up and down to see if you wouldn't hear the noise from the exterior and pinpoint better where it might come from.

Its all I can think of for now... Get back at me, I'll try to think about other things in the process.

i have tokico blue hp shocks on front n rear i changed them thinking the noise was my shocks wearing down. as the rears were gettin installed the guy had to push down on the rear driver axle to get the shock assembly back on, i dont have any experience in this area but it didnt look right

Check your RSB...sometimes those tend to clunk when you walk the car over steep inclines. Esp if it is not set tight enough.

Check to make sure that your Stillen sway bar isn't hitting the underbody of the car. Specifically the trailing arm mounting bolts. You may need to move the location of the bar back slightly to avoid them hitting. Check for marks up on the body right above where your sway bar is mounted.
