does it happen all the time or only if the car is sitting for a couple days? Also what color is the smoke?? it sounds like it could be head gasket if the smoke is white...

do you need an oil change? check your radiator and see if theres any oil in there.
****ty deal man good luck with that

That's definitely not normal. It's most likely because oil is slowly leaking into your combustion chamber and the accumulation of oil is being burned off when you start the car.
It's probably not worth tearing the engine apart to fix unless it gets real bad or smokes constantly...although it could just be a leaking valve cover to something more extensive.

It's only noticed on a cold engine because of the cats. As soon as they heat up you'll see no smoke.

I'd say either condensation vapors ( light and dispates quickly) from exhuast or oil seeping into a cylinder from a valve ( blueish color heavier smoke ).

ya thats not cool when it happens. I had a corolla before my max (couple months ago) and I thought it was just sludgy antifreeze, then I found out my headgasket was ****ed and it was oil in the rad... bad news for sure.

03gle - maybe try doing an oil change and use some tune up in a can. It usually helps... that stuff is cheap and it wont hurt anything.

How much oil does it use between changes? That will tell you if it's a biggie or not.

keep checking your oil. Sounds like it might be a burner

is your coolant level going down? if not it's not head gasket. you can always pressure test the coolant.
White smoke is coolant. (headgasket)
Blue smoke is oil from either valve seals and guides, also a malfunctioning pcv could cause that theoreticly (less likely)
Dark smoke is excess fuel caused by leaky injector.
I think i covered all the bases
Either way you are probably not gonna want to tear it apart unless it gets really bad and foul plugs or what not
