OBX Headers fitment problem!

I bought some OBX headers for my 5.5 Maxima. I have Everything on and bolted up. but my Front Header isnt lining up with the Y-pipe. the y-pipe is like 5 inches off (lower then the front header). My car is Just sitting in the air. I honestly dont know what to do. Ill post a pic later. but any ideas?

Update 8-30-09

Installed and done. Thanks e-subliminal-2 for helping. had to force the Y-pipe up. but everything worked. but Strongly recommend getting 5.5 headers for your car. i got to 3.0 headers. i didnt have to shave my cross member or anything. but still i have 370 in these headers. and regret it honestly. but Future reference. Do not get OBX 3.0 headers. and a 4 day job in hell.

Hint since these headers don't bolt up PERFECTLY! You must install everything loosely and not tighten any thing down completely until everything is bolted together loosely on the header/ypipe do not connect to cat yet!
The last OBX I installed had about 4"-5" between the cat and the ypipe collector and I had to move the exhaust up to meet it but if this ever fails it will but at the flex section since it's under a load! My Cattman header/ypipe fit like a glove, stress free! This is common with Chinese made ****.....

Try to loosen up the flange on the back a little then bolt the front header to the y-pipe and tighten it up.

We got them to fit. No big, just had to use some jacks in some tight spots. Was no big deal.

x2

User error.

The 3.0 versions suck more than the new 3.5 versions..and they fit either engine. Should've done your research.

i've found that taking shortcuts on car parts, aka buying knockoffs, tend to be a bad decision to the point that you lose money when they break or dont perform as needed. Then if the latter happens, you sell it for a fraction of what you paid and buy the part you should've bought to begin with.

Personally, I got tired of regretting buying the good stuff the first time around. If you cant afford it, keep saving, it'll be worth it. That's my philosophy.

I normally would agree with you, however the obx have been dyno proven. There's no doubt that they are making similar power to cattman for double the price for minor madifying.. So why not go with them?

Did yours have an equal-length Y-pipe?

The 3.0 do not come with an equal length Y pipe, which is why no shaving of the cross member or rear mount was needed. However, no dyno proven results as to non equal length ones making any less power. I believe Grand hustle is working on producing such at this time. However his is an auto, this is a 6mt.. so we'll see what results he gets.

It shouldn't matter what engine they are made for. The header design should fit the 95-03 maxima with no modification. That's why they only cost 300 bucks. No research and development. If you buy any set of cattman headers they will fit any maxima from 95-03. And they cost upwards of 900 bucks because he spent money on research and development. And they actually fit, everytime.

Well the main whp gains from headers are gained from eliminating precats, longer runners. Equal length Y is known more to improve sound than anything else.
