Will a 20x10 with a +36 offset work on my AE without any problems

I was told no due to brake line and inner rub. But anything is possible. I do believe someone did run A 20x10 but with modifications.

I also was a witness to a 4th gen last week with a 20x10.5 IRL.

Wont fit too wide. 20x8.5 will fit, but 18x8.5 will looks and ride better.
