Headers????

I have a 2k2 Max SE and I would like to know if there is any available headers in the market. I know about the y-pipes but I was wondering about a complete header system. The reason I'm asking is because I've read about the Comptech CL-S headers making a max of 32 hp (according to their dyno). Would a header for our Max make this much increase in hp?

The stock headers on the Honda/Acura J-series V6's SUCK. That's the reasons for the huge gains at pretty much all RPM's - the dyno's are unreal, but, well, real

I remember somebody dynoing a header for the VQ30DE awhile back (imported from Austrailia ??) and they didn't get much if any gains (if memory serves) which would point to an already efficient header on the Nissan VQ engines.

maybe that was emax95

I am pretty sure they were from New Zealand.

Those headers won't fit on the 3.5 engine (at least I don't think they will). Improvements were like 1 or 2 hp and 1 or 2 ft-lbs. I think Don in Texas tried porting out the stock headers, and that didn't gain anything. So that means that the stock headers are geard for maximun flow already. Put your money into a better "bang for the buck" mod like a y-pipe.

Not only will they probably not gain you much power.
They'd be expensive as hell. I mean, just a y-pipe will cost you 300-450 depending on who you get it from.

The headers did not leak, my mechanic just did not torque the bolts properly so the gaskets did the seal. I fixed the problem in approx. 5 minutes, no more leaks.

I checked to see if my headers would fit a 02 max and I found out that the gaskets on the heads are different so I don't think they will line up, I could be wrong though. My headers with the two leaks gave me approx. 9HP and 10 TQ at about 5400 RPM, with out the leaks I think another 5 HP would have been very possible. Any how, these headers replaced my oem Y-Pipe to so the #'s were a little dissapointing. I would recommend a Y-Pipe unless you are going for "Show" or if you have forced induction.
