Mobil1 Synthetic ATF

Hello,

I was looking into changing my transmission oil to Mobil1 Synthetic ATF. A couple of years ago, these used to go for about $5-$6. Now, they go for about $8 are the local auto parts. Does anybody know where I could get these cheaper and if there are any coupons I could use. Thanks.

unfortunately you'll have to shop around. most walmarts don't carry them anymore, and you'll only find them at autozone, checkers, pep boys...etc

Walmart seems to be the place, but as stated above not all of them still carry it. Of the 3 in my area one does have it.

And of course it is the one farthest from my house.

I live in the west coast, and they don't have advanced auto here. But they do have kragen auto parts. I know they are the same company but could I use the advanced auto parts coupon at kragen. I would like to know. Thanks for all your replies.

Checker, Schucks and Kragen are all the same. They added O'Reilly somewhat recently. Advance Auto is not affiliated with those 4.

it depends on who's using it. Amsoil fanboys will say amsoil, but mobil 1 works very good too, and its cheaper.

I put Mobil one in my 2002. I am guessing any synethic is better than regular oil - and changing your fluids is better than not! I think I changed my tranny fluid on my 94 maxima at 35k, and then sold the car at 150K.

Now I am better at changing fluids. The drain/refill is easier than an oil change and doesn't need to be as often. If I am feeling ambitious, and generous, I will follow a drain/refill with the "quart by quart from the radiator return line" method.

some have reported smoother shifting, some haven't. its hard to say. One thing i can say, no harm switching to synthetic. it'll last longer, protect better, and yeah.

For max pusher, since you don't have an Advance Auto around, how about Car Quest? My Car Quest has Amsoil Synthetic ATF (D3 compatible) on clearance on a table at the front of the store for $7/quart.
