how can i make a custom air intake for my maxima 2002.........what are the dimensions in a intake?... shor intake,cold air intake,etc,etc,etc..... thanks

I just did a custom short ram a few weeks ago on my 2003. Bought a cheap intake kit from ebay for the 04-06 Maxima, I had to cut the aluminum pipe down from 10" to 6", bought a separate vacuum hose, 2X 4-PLY couplers, a aluminum 350z/G35 MAF Adapter for the filter and then bought a separate K&N cone filter, after that, you just put it all together like a puzzle. Hope this helps.

 

Aluminum pipe and just get a filter for the end of it. I recommend a JWT pop charger air filter since it has a velocity stack built into it so it doesn't disturb airflow coming to your MAF.

 

you're gonna need to support the system in some way unless you want it hanging down and resting on whatever part is under the intake.. when i had my 5th gen, i just made a custom autozone intake by taking one of their filters and a couple pipes and putting them together.. check out autozone, pep boys, and strauss for all the different pipes and filters they have
