Clutch Noise? Please help

When i release my clutch pedal, my engine/trans makes a weird noise. It is best described has as a loud high pitched moan. I know that sounds weird. It mainly does it before its warmed up, and when I;m stopped and start to take off. It doesn't do it everytime, but more and more now.

I searched and saw posts about the clutch fork pivot bushing. Im not sure that is my problem. I took off the rubber cover and spray a bunch of lube in there, and it didn't help one bit. Also, if I hold the brake and start to let out the clutch to the point where it starts to engage, the noise starts and is a steady tone. The more I let it out and it "fights" against the brake, the noise gets louder. I dont think its the bushing because I can hold the clutch pedal in one position and the noise is constant. Its not like the pivot of the clutch fork is squeeking as it turns, because the pedal is staying in one position.

Any ideas, please?

sounds like the clutch throw out bearing to me. Noisy at idle, quiet while driving?

Sounds like the TO bearing. The only way to tell exactly what's going on is to pull the tranny. You may as well plan on a clutch swap while you're in there.

Be careful about spraying lube in there. There's no reason to do it. If you manage to get it on the clutch friction material you could ruin it.

If it's making it with the clutch pedal depressed, it's probably the throwout bearing. If it's making it with the clutch pedal not depressed, it's probably the transmission input shaft bearing (the throughout bearing isn't turning with the pedal all the way up unless something else is wrong).

Been there, done that, (three diferent cars, one was Maxima) I'm betting on the Throw Out bearing.

No, I don't ride a clutch and burn out throw out bearings, I'm just old and have had a LOT of high milage cars.

I had a TOB go bad on my NX. I knew exactly what it was and replaced it myself, so I know something about TOBs. But that was a classic example. This time, its different. Doesn't do it with the clutch pedal all the way in. Doesn't do it when shifting. Doesn't do it at idle if in nuetral. Its just not the typical signs, but I don't know what else it could be. And it kinda comes and goes, seems worse when it rains. Just wondering if anyone else had something similiar with them. I'm just not convinced its the TOB and would like to be sure before I tear into it.
Thanks

I am having a similar issue. A couple of months after replacing my clutch assembly and TOB with an exedy kit, a high pitch squeal (pit pit pit pit pit...) as appeared when clutch pedal is released.

I suspect a friction between pressure plate fingers and the TOB. I really dont feel like dropping the tranny again... What a pain!
